During the 2017 Canada Summer Games, I volunteered with the Marketing, Media and Communications team as their lead Blog Squad Supervisor. For three weeks, I wrote over 20 articles and also directed Blog Squad members in what to write and edited what they submitted.
Since the Games website is only temporary, here is an example of one of my top five articles. These were distributed every morning.
August 7 : Top 5 things to do today
Bring on week two! Aren’t you just loving the Canada Games so far? The enthusiasm of the athletes, families and volunteers is absolutely infectious. Week two brings a whole new bunch of competitions to the table. With a little help from a few Canadian slang terms, here’s what should be on your agenda for today..
1. Give’r, give’r, tonight’s gonna be a thriller
Here we go, Toba, here we go!! It’s Manitoba day and the only place you absolutely need to be tonight is at Festival where Ace Burpee and Daniel Roa host a night dedicated to that great place in the middle.
On the mainstage, you’ll see Fred Penner, Spitfire Kings, Faouzia, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, William Prince feat. Sierra Noble, The New Meanies, Royal Canoe, and…wait for it…Crash Test Dummies! Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.What a way to end an epic long weekend.
2. That’s a wicked toss

4. I’ll have a double-double
